Native Missionary

Reaching Out to His  Jerusalem and Judea

We are pleased to report the acquisition of a native full-time missionary here in Guaimaca. Although he has just recently become a full time missionary for World Baptist Mission, Inc., Roberto Molina has been a regular and active part of the ministry here for a while.

Roberto first began his involvement with WBM working in a manual labor position in which he helped with construction projects around the hospital grounds.  At that time, Roberto had not yet come to know the Lord as his personal Savior.  Shortly after joining the WBM team, Roberto had frightening experience that could have ended his life.

While working on the first wing of the hospital, Roberto slipped and fell off of the roof.  By the grace of God, Roberto escaped with nothing more than some soreness in his back.  This was just the experience Roberto needed to realize that God had a plan for him and that he needed to receive Lord in his heart and surrender his life to God's will.  The Sunday following the accident, Roberto went forward at his local church and asked Christ to come into his heart.

Since that beautiful Sunday morning, it has been evident that Roberto had truly surrendered his life to God's will, and God is working mightily through him as a result.  This was evident almost immediately as Roberto began seminary studies in Tegucigalpa (the nation's capitol) and continued working at the hospital.  During his time at seminary, Roberto was also active in a local Baptist church, which at that time partnered with WBM in church planting and evangelism.  Roberto worked alongside a local pastor and quickly began teaching and preaching in San Marcos (a mountain mission church).

After two years of intense study and hard work, Roberto graduated from seminary (Nov 2004) with a focus in church planting and evangelism and continued ministering at the hospital and surrounding areas.  While still working at the hospital in construction, Roberto was also acting as hospital chaplain.  He led the staff devotions and patient devotions and he met with patients who had special needs such as prayer, a bible, etc.

Within the last eight months, as Roberto has followed the calling God has placed on his heart, he has moved from full-time construction worker and part-time minister, to full-time minister and one-day-a-week construction worker.  He is currently the head pastor of the mountain mission church in San Marcos (about 25km from the hospital).  Although this is a young church, God is using Roberto to instill a desire in the congregation to reach their neighboring villages.  As a result of Roberto's leading, the San Marcos church is now the host church of two small congregations in other mountain villages (Piñuelas and Cerro Bonito) that are seeing people come to know the Lord on a regular basis.

As Roberto has made the step of answering God's call to become a missionary in his own country, he takes on all of the faith building challenges that come with being a missionary.  One of the major challenges is that of financial support.  By becoming a full-time missionary, Roberto has left a comfortable pay check to trust the Lord to provide for him both spiritually and financially.  Right now WBM as a ministry is covering Roberto's expenses with confidence and expectation that God is going to provide Roberto's salary through the ministry's gracious donors and sponsors.  We also believe that God is going to use the giving hearts of people like you-- who visit the website--to help provide for the maintenance of Roberto's vehicle (provided by the ministry), biblical resources for his and church members spiritual maturation, resources for church construction, etc.

Should you desire to help Roberto or his ministry financially, you can contact us at mail@wbmonline.org to find out how you can make your donation.  You can also send a contribution in the form of a check to the address below, or click the "Donate" button.
