Helping to Educate and Raise Children in the Name of the Lord


     Program Mission 

· To teach the children and their parents the truth of the Gospel and how to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

· To minister to the emotional, spiritual and physical needs of the children in Guaimaca. 

· To provide a safe environment for children to learn and grow.

· To serve regular hot meals for the children.

· To grow the children using spiritual guidance and a firm Biblical foundation.

· To offer an enriching pre-school education so children may enter school with the greatest opportunities for success.

The Day Care Center

Each child in the day care receives two meals a day, vitamins, and lessons on teeth-brushing and other personal hygiene.  The children also get to listen to and participate in daily Bible lessons and praise music, as well as receive the additional blessing of playing with toys that have been generously donated from friends of the ministry back home.  We have four Honduran workers, a cook and three classroom helpers, who are doing an outstanding job and showering the children with God's love.  The Day Care Center has an office and storage area, three classrooms with a bathroom in each room, and a kitchen built into one of the classrooms.  Not only does the kitchen provide regular hot meals for children, but it is also used to give classes to the parents so they can learn good nutrition and food preparation procedures.  The day care facility is a real blessing to parents who have had to stay at home with their children rather than work or leave their children to tend to themselves.

Ten percent of designated gifts may be used for general ministry expenses. All gifts to WBM are used to glorify Christ, and follow His command to tell others about Him.

       Program Needs

Prayer Needs:

· God's provision of sponsors for the program and for all of the children who will be attending the day care canter.  

· God's call upon passionate Christians in the States to come and spend time at the center and share God's love with the children and their families.

Continued financial support for the completion of the day care facility:

· Construction materials and labor

· Materials for furniture

· Playground equipment

Sponsorship: $30 per child per month to pay for:

· Food

· Arts & crafts, and educational materials, as well as other items such as diapers

· Maintenance costs (electricity, cleaning, repair, etc.)

· A just salary for all Honduran workers at the center

 

Other Needs:  We encourage groups to collect items to bring on their trips to Honduras, or individuals can make a donation by contacting Dee Kitchings.  Email addresses are below.

· Diapers (size: large), handy wipes, hand sanitizer, hand soap

· Children's Chewable Vitamins to provide to the children each day

· Toothbrushes, children's toothpaste, children's shampoo

· Treats for the children (stickers, candy, inexpensive toys)

· Play dough, bubbles, coloring books, construction paper, crayons, markers,

· Arts and Crafts materials (pipe cleaners, glitter, foam shapes, beads, etc.)
